Gold-rated LEED certification for Rudrapur plan of Delta India

Delta India Electronics Pvt Ltd has achieved the LEED certification for its Rudrapur plant as “Gold-rated” green building from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Delta is a leader in the telecom power solutions, uninterruptible power systems (UPSs), display solutions, industrial automation, and components. Delta India is a part of $ 5.9 billion Taiwanese Delta Electronics Inc.It has three manufacturing facilities in India – Rudrapur, Gurgaon, Pondicherry and two R&D centers in Gurgaon and Bangalore. The Rudrapur plant was built in 2008.

As per Delta India, the Rudrapur factory consumes 35% less energy compared to a comparaable conventional building. Some of the design features applied include energy efficient architecture, natural sky-lighting and ventilation, rain water harvesting and water re-cycling. Approximately 60% of the total area of the factory has been kept open and green.

The factory in Rudrapur also incorporates Delta’s renewable energy technologies and solutions. Delta’s corporate office in Gurgaon has also applied for platinum rating line with the U.S. LEED and IGBC standards.
