500 million USD Aloe Environment Fund III

Aloe PE is a Mauritius-based Asia-focused PE firm. As part of growing importance of India and South-east Asia in the cleantech investment space, Aloe PE will soon launch a $501 million fund for- Aloe Environment Fund III. This fund aims to specifically invest in companies developing environmental technologies.

Given the size of the corpus, the fund will most likely invest in 8-10 companies in areas of waste management, recycling, water and energy efficiency .Aloe PE was established in 2003, it has $258 Mn as AUM through 10 portfolio companies. Polygenta Technologies, producer of polyester filament yarn from PET bottles and Greenko Group, an IPP are part of the portfolio of Aloe in India. Aloe’s portfolio outside India includes AgroGeneration and Vertaris from France, and Recupyl. AgroGeneration is a producer , Recupyl is a specialist recycling technology firm and Vertaris is a producer of recycled paper and paper pulp.

Other funds that are looking at the same target – cleantech space in India are FE Clean Energy, Green Ventures, Climate Change Capital, Global Environment Fund etc.
